After studying at Queen’s University, during which time he penned a satiric back-page column for one of the campus newspapers, Robert Hough became a free-lance writer in his native city of Toronto. His first novel, The Final Confession of Mabel Stark, was published all over the world, and the film rights were optioned by the director Sam Mendes. Since then, he has published five similarly acclaimed titles: The Stowaway, The Culprits, Dr. Brinkley’s Tower, The Man Who Saved Henry Morgan and the young adult novel, Diego’s Crossing. His seventh novel, The Marriage of Rose Camilleri, will appear in stores in October of 2021. He has two adult daughters, and lives in Toronto with his partner, the natural burial ground advocate Susan Greer.
